Coleman 2 Burner Dual Fuel Compact Liquid Fuel Stove Reviews:
This Coleman Stove is a nice camp stove that could potentially come in quite handy in the event of an emergency. Unlike traditional propane stoves however, you will have to follow a simple lighting procedure. But it isn’t hard at all. After the burners are lit, they are fully adjustable all the way down to a low simmer.
One of the reviewers mentioned that full burner is extremely powerful, and they actually get a better boil time using this stove (outside), than they do with their own kitchen range (inside). The stove also doesn’t seem as prone to being affected by wind as other models that use propane. It does use a generator system to vaporize the fuel, and these types of systems have been known to clog up over time which requires replacement.
On the bad side, one reviewer felt that this is quite a stinky stove and is also very inefficient by today’s standards. According to this reviewer, the burners are also fickle and leave soot on the bottom of your gear. A different reviewer also received a unit that was banged up on one corner. They presumed it came from the factory this way. The conclusion they came to was that the sheet metal used for this stove is not as thick as older models and it must have sustained some form of damage from the factory. It worked however, and they decided to keep the stove.
Someone else purchased one of these stoves for a recent camping trip, and stated that the materials used today are a bit flimsier than they used to be, but the overall functionality and other critical materials appeared about the same. Even though these stoves are dual fuel, it is a good idea to not mix the two fuels. Try to use fresh fuel so it won’t take as long to warm up.
Also, be sure to oil the pump mechanism regularly. This type of stove requires a little more maintenance than propane models do, but it’s really worth it. To avoid rust, just make sure and clean up the parts and dispose of the fuel if you plan on any long term storage.
If you do decide to buy this stove, it will most likely be something that you will take on all of your family camping trips for a long time to come. You may even give it to one of your children someday. The camp stove uses liquid fuel instead of a pressurized tank of propane. The liquid fuel is less expensive and lasts longer as well. Coleman Stoves are great for camping and this really is no exception.
